Player's Guidelines

  • There will be a zero tolerance for any Player’s or Captain that abuses Umps, scorekeepers or any member of the Executive. The past couple of years there have been too much arguing of calls and we have heard complaints from a few Umps. Please remember that this is a recreational league and we all get enough stress at work or in our family life we don’t need more Stress during Sunday Softball. If you feel the need to argue please join another league. All our Scorekeepers, Umps and Committee members are all volunteers so please show them the respect that they deserve. The Umps will only give one warning for any abuse then if this behavior persist the player will be ejected from that game and there will be an additional 1 game suspension. If it happens a 2nd time there will be a 2 games suspension and if it happens a 3rd time the player involved will be ejected from the league.  This rule also holds for any family member or guest that a player may have in the visitor areas — it is YOUR  responsibility to control these visitors, keep each of the aforementioned penalties in mind.
  • DON'T dispute calls with the umps (even if you truly believe they're wrong). The Only ones that should be talking to the Umps are the Captains but even they cannot dispute judgement calls. Those players who disregard this rule will be ejected from the game. Please see Captain's guidelines for more detail.
  • DON'T leave your personal belongings at the park after the game. Sounds logical but you wouldn't BELIEVE the amount of sunglasses, sunscreen, keys, gloves, hats, water bottles, lunch bags, umbrellas, shoes, etc., that get left at the park throughout the season.
  • DON'T let your children run into the field during a game or let them play with the bats as some peoples personal bats are over $400.00.
  • Contact any of your Captains if you will be late or cannot make a game. Any player who shows up late and does not call their Captain will not play in that game. Any player who shows up late (or simply does not show up) and does not FOREWARN their Captain you will not play in the game that you were late (or absent) for plus you will have a additional 1 game suspension. If you are late (or are absent without advance notice) a third time without notifying your Captain in advance, you will be suspended for the remainder of the season and playoffs.
  • Show up early to games (at least 15 minutes). This benefits your Captains since they have to get the line-up in before game time. In addition, arriving early will give you the chance to warm-up, thus reducing your injury risk. Games must start on time in order to get all the games in. Umps will ask for line-ups 5 minutes before game time. Latecomers' names must be put at the bottom of the batting order. If you put a player on the line-up and they are late and their spot comes up in the batting order they will automatic out.
  • Participate in the end-of-game handshake even if your team has lost the game. It’s the right thing to do.
  • Share your bat if you bring one (it’s in the rules!). Please remember that for safety reasons, we do not allow bats made of titanium or those with a BPF greater than 1.20. All bats must state "Official Softball".
  • Congratulate your teammates when they make a nice catch, get a hit, score a run, or make a good effort. What goes around comes around… If you really want to impress the league, congratulate one of your opponents on a nice play or hit!
  • Instead of arguing with the Umps or Scorekeepers you could try to volunteer for umpire or scorekeeper duty. This league is run entirely by volunteers. Training provided, if necessary. All volunteers are recognized at the Banquet.
  • Leave the extra stress at work or at home.
  • Be nice to the scorekeeper and umpires. You never know when this will benefit you! These people are volunteers and deserve your respect. Their job is harder than it looks.
